Our Verdict

The Donner DED-200 takes the edge in my opinion due to its good quality pads, kick tower, and pedal, but the Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit has a slightly better drum module, which simply has a better design in comparison to the module on the DED-200.

Donner DED-200 vs Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit (2024) Head to Head

Donner DED-200
vs
Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit

The Donner DED-200 and the Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit, are both very similarly priced, entry-level e-drum kits. The Turbo Mesh Kit is much more popular and common for beginners, but the DED-200 has some better feature overall such as a drum tower, instead of a trigger pedal.

When it comes to choosing between the two, it's definitely a tough job to do. Especially when the price tag is this much similar. Do you go with the Donner DED-200, which has more features? Or do you go for the Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit, which has gained huge popularity since its release? In this article we are going to make the comparison between the two to help you out with the choice.

Key Differences

The most noticeable difference between the two is that the Donner DED-200 has a kick tower, instead of a trigger pedal which is way better. This also means that you have to buy a kick pedal separately.

The DED-200 has a dual-snare zone, which is a huge step up from the single-zone snare on the Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit.

The ride cymbal pad on the Alesis Turbo Mesh kit is only single-zone, while the DED-200 has a dual zone ride cymbal pad.

The Donner DED-200 is equipped with the DED-200, while the Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit uses the Turbo Drum Module.

Verdict

Donner DED-200
vs
Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit

If you are a beginner drummer, both of these options will work great. If you do want more features and want to spend a bit more time getting to know the drum module, the DED-200 is a great option. If, however you prefer easier to use drum module and a little bit better triggering, than the Alesis Turbo Mesh kit is the way to go.
