These two similarly priced e-drum kits are made for different drummers in mind, and by that logic, they both serve a different purpose. The VAD506 has a great stage presence, and to some, it might be the obvious choice when it comes to live performances. But the TD-50KV2 is Roland's flagship model from the TD line and has more features than the VAD506.

Roland VAD506 vs Roland TD-50KV2 V-Drums (2024) Head to Head

Roland VAD506 V-Drums Acoustic Design
vs
Roland TD-50KV2 V-Drums

The biggest difference between the Roland VAD506 and the TD-50KV2 e-drum kits is their looks and the drum module. The VAD stands for "V-Drums Acoustic Design", and that's why the VAD506 has all full-depth wood shells as opposed to the normal e-drum pads on the TD-50KV2.

TD-50KV2 is equipped with the far superior drum module, which is Roland's flagship model as well, the TD-50X. The VAD506 on the other hand comes with a bit stripped-down version(in terms of features), the TD-27 drum module.

Key Differences

The most noticeable difference between the two is the size of the full-sized kick drum. The VAD506 has a 20" kick drum, while the TD-50KV2 has an 18" full-sized kick drum.

The drum module on the TD-50KV2 has more features and more direct audio outputs than the drum module on the VAD506.

The TD-50KV2 comes with four tom pads, while the VAD506 has three full-depth wood shells.

The Roland VAD506 V-Drums Acoustic Design is equipped with the TD-27 Drum Module, while the Roland TD-50KV2 V-Drums uses the TD-50X.

Verdict

Roland VAD506 V-Drums Acoustic Design
vs
Roland TD-50KV2 V-Drums

If you plan to do a lot of live performances with your e-drums, then the VAD506 might be a better option just because of the amazing stage presence that it has.
